Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Contact forms
Thru the contact form, bespotted.org does collect the personal data you provide us with (specifically your name and email address). We store and retain this data for a period of 90 days. The information collected thru this form we may use to:
- to send you administrative communications, such as administrative emails, confirmation emails, technical notices, updates on policies or security alerts;
- to respond to your comments or inquiries;
- to provide you with user support;
- to protect, investigate and deter against unauthorized or illegal activity.
We do not use the information submitted through the contact form for marketing purposes.
Guest Posting
If you submit a guest post to us, we store your name, email and any other data you provide us with. We do so in case we need to get in touch with you sometimes in the future. We do not use your details for marketing purposes.
You have the right at any time to request from us to delete your personal data and/or to anonymize the guest post you have submitted to us. However, we retain the right to keep the content itself published on BeSpotted.org and to use it in promotional purposes.
Email Notification Subscriptions
If you decide to sign up to receive new post notifications via email, you will be redirected to our feed at SpecificFeeds.com. We use SpecificFeeds as an alternative to an email newsletter. bespotted.org does use cookies to store information about visitors preferences, record user-specific information on which pages the user access or visit, customize Web page content based on visitors browser type or other information that the visitor sends via their browser.

If you leave a comment on our site, we are saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

We use Wordfence plugin to protect our website. Wordfence collects and processes some of the data we get from your browser and devices, like IP address, geographical location, operating system, browser, host, the date and time you access the website and the pages you visit. This helps them determine if someone is a human or bot, check comments for spam and identify and block malicious traffic.

Who we share your data with
We use Dropbox as our cloud storage provider. We send backups of our website to Dropbox. Dropbox Privacy Policy can be found at https://www.dropbox.com/en_GB/privacy.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Data collected thru contact forms will be retained for a period of 90 days.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, have contacted us in the past thru our Contact Us form or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
