Peach smoothie recipe: dairy-free, vegan-friendly, with tones of benefits for your health and beauty. Fast and easy to make and it tastes so good…

If you are anything like me, waking up in the morning is a small torture on its own. My lazy ass appreciates every minute of sleep it can get. After all, good night’s sleep is half of beauty, isn’t it?

Then again, so is breakfast. And feeding your skin, hair and nails with pastry or fried food so early in the morning, as tempting as it may sound, is not the best idea. It all comes back to you, whether as love handles or an unclear skin complexion.

Smoothie-for-breakfast trend to me came as a real rescue. Not only do I have to put next to zero effort into making them, but they are also super healthy and, if not quite diet, at least not very high in calories.

And when, on top of all of that, you find a recipe that covers many needs your skin, hair and nails have, plus tastes amazing – now, that is a real winner!

This dairy-free peach smoothie is not only a great beauty booster, it also has many benefits for your health. Plus, honey is optional, and even if you need the smoothie to be sweeter, you can use maple syrup or agave nectar instead. So, this recipe is also vegan-friendly.

Peaches

Peaches are a delicious fruit, very sweet and rich in nutrients. They give smoothies a rich, smooth, creamy texture, especially if you use frozen peaches.

Peaches are rich in vitamins A, C, E and K, potassium, copper, manganese and fiber. They are packed with antioxidants, which fight free radicals, prevent oxidative damage and delay aging signs.

Regular consumption of peaches improves your skin’s texture and its ability to retain moisture. They also stimulate the collagen production and give you a skin that is plump, soft, smooth and just – peachy!

Pineapple

This tropical fruit is packed with antioxidants and enzymes that soothe inflammations. It also contains vitamins C and B6, manganese, copper, thiamin, potassium, magnesium, niacin, iron, zinc, calcium and fiber. Now, that’s impressive.

Pineapple is said to improve mental and cardiovascular health and to promote weight loss. When it comes to your skin, pineapple is an amazing anti-aging agent. It can also help you clear out acne, restore and regenerate your skin.

If you don’t like pineapple, you can replace it with frozen mango chunks.

Almonds

When was the last time you ate almonds for snack? And they are so full of nutrients that are super important for your health, skin, hair and nails. This peach smoothie is a great way to include them into your diet.

Almonds are rich in antioxidants, fiber and healthy fats. They are known to tone the tissue, improve digestive system, keep your energy levels up and sharpen your memory. They are easy to fit into a weight loss diet.

As for their beauty benefits, almonds contain vitamin E, which plays a big role in protecting your skin from free radicals and delaying aging signs. They also nourish and moisturize both your skin and hair and promote hair growth.

Almond milk

Almond milk is a great alternative to dairy milk, perfect for vegans and lactose-intolerant people. It pretty much supports the benefits of almonds we just talked about. It also adds much needed hydration to your diet.

It’s even better if you make your own almond milk instead of using a store-bought one. Here’s how you can make almond milk at home and some ideas on how to use it in skincare.

Flaxseed

Flaxseed is often referred to as ‘superfood’, due to its high content of nutrients and numerous benefits it has for you. It is a perfect addition to this peach smoothie recipe.

Flaxseed is rich in antioxidants that have probiotic effect on the digestive tract. It also contains fiber, both soluble and insoluble. It helps you feel full for longer and prevents many diseases.

This seed also contains high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids, which, amongst other things, moisturize, soften and smoothe your skin and hair and have soothing, nourishing effect.

Honey

As already said, you don’t have to use honey in this peach smoothie. But if you do, here’s what it can do for you:

Honey is low in vitamins and minerals, but has impressive content of antioxidants and bioactive plant compounds. It has antibacterial, soothing and healing properties, improves your immune system and reduces risk of many diseases.

Honey can help purify your skin, clear out acne and slow down the aging processes. It also strengthens your nails, adds shine to your hair and helps in preventing and treating dandruff.

Of course, though completely natural sweetener, honey is still high in sugars, so it should be consumed in moderation.

To make things more interesting, I like to add some cinnamon and fresh mint leaves to my peach smoothie. This is by far my favorite combination.

Mint boosts the immune system, relieves cramps and pain, improves memory and reduces stress and depression. Cinnamon has a wide variety of benefits for you, from treating your sore throat and improving your hart’s health, to improving your complexion and promoting hair growth.

But if you don’t like the mint-cinnamon combo, you are free to skip them. You can add nutmeg or ginger instead, use none, only one or all four spices. Or you can make your own combination any way you like.

The Best Vegan-Friendly Peach Smoothie Recipe

  • 1 ½ cup frozen peach slices (You can also use fresh peaches.)
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple cubes
  • ½ – 1 cup almond milk
  • ¼ cup almonds (de-skinned)
  • ground flaxseed – 1 – 2 teaspoons
  • honey (Optional; you can replace it with maple syrup, agave nectar, etc.)
  • fresh mint leaves – to taste
  • cinnamon – to taste
  • nutmeg and/or ginger (optional)

Start by putting the almonds into a blender. Blend until you get a buttery almond paste. Then add the peaches, pineapple, almond milk, ground flaxseed and mint leaves. Blend everything well until you get a creamy, smooth mixture.

Taste your smoothie and decide if it needs any sweetener (this can depend even on how ripe your peaches are) and if you’ll be using any spices. Add the ingredients and blend again.

Pour your beauty-boosting peach smoothie into a smoothie glass and enjoy! You can have it for breakfast, instead of your daily snacks or just because.

Either way, its vitamins and antioxidants will do their thing, enhancing the beauty of your skin, hair and nails and your health in general. And its taste will bring a smile to your face, making you even more beautiful 🙂

Cheers!
