This green smoothie can clear up your skin, tone it, hydrate it and improve its texture. Try using it for two weeks and see for yourself what happens…

    • Green smoothies are popular for a reason – they supply your body with large amounts of hydration, nutrients and antioxidants.
    • Other than your health and general wellbeing, these powerful vitamin bombs have a significant effect on the health and appearance of your skin.
    • It is also important that your morning smoothie tastes well, and the recipe down below contains ingredients that are as delicious as they are great for your skin.

Ever since we were kids, we were programmed to glare with distrust at anything green on our plates. How we grew up into people who walk around with green smoothies in our hands is a mystery to us all.

And yet, there they are. On TV. Social media. On YouTube. In a park. At your local gym. These gorgeous, super-fit women, full of energy.

They look like they’re glowing from within, with clear, radiant skin and sparkles in the eyes. And there’s usually a bottle of green smoothie somewhere within their reach.

Now, do we necessarily want a sip of these sludgy green, thick, yucky looking things? No, not particularly.

But, do we want the benefits? Heck, yeah!

Good news – this green smoothie actually doesn’t taste bad. Even better news – it can help you get that clear, healthy, glowing skin, and here’s how:

The Ingredients for This Green Smoothie:

Coconut water

Such a refreshing ingredient, coconut water rehydrates the body and skin, and we all know that hydrated skin is plump, smooth, vibrant and glowing.

Coconut milk

Contains, amongst other things, good fatty acids and vitamin E, both great for your skin. Together with coconut water, it adds decadence, richness and an exotic note to this green smoothie. Goes great with banana and pineapple.

If you want, you can use almond milk instead.

Spinach

One of the most often used green smoothie ingredients, and with good reason. Spinach has a pretty mild taste, especially compared to some other leafy greens, so you can slip it into almost any smoothie.

It contains vitamins A, C, E and K, plus iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium… It is a real vitamin/antioxidant bomb that can cleanse your skin and boost your energy level.

Avocado

Avocado is amazing in moisturizing your skin, both when you apply it topically and when you eat it. It is packed with healthy fats that our skin and body really, really need.

Plus it contains many other nutrients and vitamins, including vitamin E. And it gives a better, creamier texture to this green smoothie.

Banana

Banana also improves the smoothie’s texture and adds sweetness and flavor. It helps improve your skin’s elasticity, while vitamin B it contains gets you rid of dull, dry skin.

Pineapple

Pineapple is high in vitamin C, which is a powerful antioxidant. It is important for youthful-looking skin since it protects us from free radicals and slows down the skin’s aging process. It also stimulates collagen production, making the skin firm, plump and supple.

Mango

Mango contains vitamins C and E, which work as anti-aging agents, plus beta-carotene, responsible for maintaining your skin healthy and adding that extra glow. It is a perfect addition to any green smoothie.

Matcha powder

Matcha powder is derived from only the finest parts of green tea leaves. It is packed with antioxidants, which protect our skin from premature aging signs, keep wrinkles and fine lines at bay and give your skin a nice, youthful glow.

Honey

You don’t have to add honey to your green smoothie (people mostly add it only if they want to make smoothies sweeter in a healthy way), but if you do, your skin can certainly benefit from it.

Honey is a natural moisturizer filled with antioxidants and it has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps clear the skin and treats many skin (and health) conditions.

  1. Hi Jovana,
This green smoothie is really packed with the good stuff!
You’re right, the best way to care for our skin is from within, making sure it’s healthy.
I’ll just suggest one more ingredient for your skin, you can add some collagen powder, it’s great, not only for your skin, but also for you bones, and more!
About the spinach, just a word of caution, do not eat too much raw, you know, its not very good for you.
    Thanks!
