The prepared DIY nail growth serum in a small jar

Prepare fresh and use this amazing DIY nail growth serum every day and you won’t believe how fast and strong your nails will grow! The combination of oranges and natural oils give one of the best natural nail care treatments.

Orange juice improves the production of collagen, which helps your nails to be healthy and strong and to grow faster. The oils moisturize and nourish the nails and reduce the breakage.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange juice
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

How to make DIY nail growth serum:

Finely grate some orange zest and squeeze out some fresh orange juice. Put both in a small bowl. Add the olive oil and mix. Warm up a tablespoon of coconut oil, add to the previous mixture and mix everything well together.

Wash your hands, then dip your fingertips into your nail growth serum. Let them soak in this solution for around 10 minutes. After that time, wash off the nail serum and apply a hydrating hand cream.

You can use this DIY nail growth serum every day or every other day.

2. Diy Nail Oil

Three small jars of DIY nail oil

This oil mixture is one of the best DIY nail care treatments you’ll ever find. It recovers and nourishes the nails and prevents future damages. It is also great for your cuticles.

Jojoba oil is similar to the oil our skin naturally produces, so it gets easily absorbed and our skin, hair and nails love it.

Sweet almond oil is rich and hydrating. It is a perfect choice for any DIY nail treatment, since it strengthens brittle nails, adds shine and helps recover damages that nail polishes and nail polish removers make.

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons jojoba oil
  • 1 ½ tablespoon sweet almond oil or castor oil
  • 10 drops lavender essential oil
  • Optionally, you can add 10 more drops of any essential oil that nourishes nails (like rosemary, citronella, tea tree oil, eucalyptus, grapefruit, carrot seed…)

How to make DIY nail oil:

All you have to do is mix all the ingredients well together. Pour your brand new DIY nail oil into an empty nail polish bottle. Make sure the bottle is completely clean – the better you store the oil, the longer the shelf life is.

You can also store the mixture into a glass dropper bottle or even in a roller bottle and use it as a natural cuticle treatment.

Use this DIY nail oil every time you feel the need for it. If your nails and the skin around them is very dry, you may need to apply it 2 – 3 times a day. But for most people, once a day or even 3 times a week should be enough.

You can even use this DIY nail oil over your nail polish, though you’ll get the best results if you apply it to clean nails.

3. Diy Nail Soak

A bunch of lemons and a few cloves of garlic

This nail soak is an amazing overall treatment for your nails, to make them stronger, whiter and more resistant to splitting and breaking. You probably already have all the ingredients and you can make it in only a couple of minutes.

Lemon juice thoroughly cleanses and whitens the nails. There are many claims and anecdotal evidence on the internet that garlic has a lot of benefits for your skin and hair, and it can also help you get beautiful, strong, healthy nails. It contains selenium that promotes faster nail growth. It also has strong antioxidant properties.

Honey also does wonders for your skin, as a natural humectant and antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and soothing agent. This same properties help your nails as well.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

How to make DIY nail soak:

Pour the lemon juice into a small bowl. Add the mashed or finely chopped garlic and olive oil and mix. In the end, add the honey. You can warm it up a bit first – it will be easier to mix it well with the other ingredients.

Soak your nails in this mixture for 10 – 15 minutes. After that time, wash the nail soak off and apply any natural oil to your nails. You can use olive oil or even better – the DIY nail oil mixture from the previous recipe. Rub it into your nails well and apply a hand cream.

You can use this DIY nail soak once or twice a week. It would be best to use it in the evening, because the garlic smells… well, like garlic. But the smell will vanish until the morning and a nice scented hand lotion can significantly reduce it even during the night.
