But that is why it is even more important to occasionally take a step back, relax and do something for yourself. It can be a quiet night at home with a good book and a glass of wine. It can be GoT marathon. Or maybe learning something new.
Or it can be soaking in a restoring, detoxifying bath with aromatic candles around you and relaxing music in the background.
Making your own DIY bath soaks is easy, cheap, fast and creative. You can use the recipes as they are or you can twerk the ingredients and completely customize them until you get exactly what works for you.
The bath soaks down below need to be prepared right before use, but unlike dry mixtures that can sit in your cabinet for months, these DIY bath soaks are much more refreshing, full of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and they smell amazing.

#1 Energizing DIY Bath Soak
- 5 cucumbers
- 3 – 4 cups coconut milk
- 2 cups Epsom or Himalayan pink salt
- 3 tablespoons matcha green tea powder
- 1 cup coconut oil
- 30 – 50 drops peppermint essential oil
This amazing green DIY bath soak is soooo relaxing and energizing, perfect for summer or after any stressful day. The smell itself will revive and revitalize all your senses.
This combination is also great for your skin. Cucumber and coconut milk will hydrate your skin and make it plump and youthful. Epsom salt and matcha tea are detoxifying and full of antioxidants. Coconut oil softens and nourishes your skin.
First, peel the cucumbers and blend them well to get a smooth, watery cucumber puree. Add the matcha green tea powder and stir. Then add the coconut milk, melted coconut oil and peppermint essential oil. In the end, stir in the Epsom salt as well.
Fill your tub with warm water. Pour the bath soak mixture into the tub. Then sink in and relax. You can use the undissolved salt to exfoliate your elbows, heels, knees and other dry patches.
#2 Soothing DIY Bath Soak

- ½ cup raw organic honey
- 30 – 50 drops lavender or jasmine essential oil

Oatmeal powder is one of the best things you can use for sensitive, irritated skin. In combination with honey and lavender, it is incredibly soothing and restoring. Almond milk and almond oil are very nourishing and moisturizing.
This DIY bath soak brings your skin back to balance and makes it baby-smooth.
Warm up the honey a bit. Mix it with the almond milk, sweet almond oil and lavender essential oil. Separately mix the lavender buds and oatmeal powder (you can use oat flour, finely ground rolled oats or colloidal oatmeal). Add it to the previous mixture and stir everything well.

#3 Refreshing DIY Bath Soak
- 3 oranges
- 2 lemons
- Optionally, you can add 2 – 3 cups of other fruit you have at that moment (kiwi, pineapple, papaya, tangerines…).
- 3 cups yogurt or milk
- 1 cup kaolin clay (or some other clay that you prefer)
- 1 cup olive or avocado oil
- around 40 drops vanilla and bergamot essential oils
Perfect to detoxify and rejuvenate your body and skin and get that youthful glow. This citrus bath cleanses your skin, nourishes it, provides lots of moisture and antioxidants and keeps it supple and smooth.
All citruses are rich in antioxidants. They also contain citric acid, which exfoliates your skin and removes the dry, dull layer of skin cells. Kaolin clay gently cleanses and detoxifies the skin, while yogurt and the oils moisturize and replenish it.
To make this citrusy DIY bath soak, thinly slice all the fruit and put everything into a bowl. Squeeze it a bit with your hands, to soften the slices and squeeze out some of the juice.
Add the yogurt and mix. Then add all the oils. In the end, mix in the kaolin clay as well. Don’t worry about everything looking so messy – it will look much better in the tub. You can use this DIY bath soak once a week or every time you need to recharge your batteries and add some healthy glow to your skin.
