All the benefits of apple for skin and 10 amazing all-natural ways to incorporate apples into your skincare routine…

Natural face masks with apple are some of my favorite skincare products. They are easy, quick and cheap solution for every time my skin looks sunken, pale and tired.

No matter how many new products I try, I keep coming back to the recipes down below. These masks cover a good chunk of my skin’s needs, make my skin clear, healthy and bright and add dewy glow.

If you are looking for new natural skincare products to try out, I cannot recommend apple enough.

Not only apple has numerous benefits for your skin, hair and health when you eat it. But even topically applied, it provides the skin with necessary vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and lots of moisture.

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. And an apple face mask once a week keeps at bay acne, dull, dehydrated skin and uneven complexion.

Here are the 10 main benefits of apple for your skin:

Benefits of Apple for Skin

  1. Apple contains lots of moisture. It hydrates the skin and makes it plump and supple.
  2. It contains vitamin C and other powerful antioxidants that protect your skin against free radicals.
  3. Apple also stimulates the collagen production, keeping your skin firm and elastic and preventing premature wrinkles and fine lines.
  4. Apple face masks brighten the skin, fade acne marks, dark spots and other skin imperfections.
  5. They help heal and replenish dry or dehydrated skin and restore its healthy, youthful glow.
  6. They are also perfect for oily skin, since they moisturize the skin without making it greasy.
  7. Apple has anti-inflammatory properties. It soothes sensitive, irritated skin and helps keep redness and itchiness under control.
  8. Fresh apple juice is a great natural skin toner. It tightens the skin, helps balance its pH levels, cleanses and tightens enlarged pores and improves the blood flow.
  9. Apple face masks are perfect for improving the complexion and making the skin healthy and radiant.
  10. Apple can also help you treat puffy eyes. Just place two thinly sliced pieces of apple under your eyes, and it will help reduce the swelling, fade dark circles and tighten the skin.

10 Best Ways to Use Apple for Skin Care

When making DIY face masks with apple, you can simply use finely grated apple. But you’ll get much better results if you use apple puree.

It is a simple rule that works for all DIY face masks – the smoother the mask is, the better your skin can absorb it.

However, you can’t use your food processor every time you’re making a mask to blend only 2 pieces of apple. Here’s what you can do instead – blend one or two apples, take as much as you need for the mask, then freeze the rest in an ice cube tray.

I do this with all fruits and vegetables I use for skincare. It saves me a lot of time. Plus, just the fact that I have all the ingredients ready is both helpful and stimulating during my “lazy days”, or when I’m short on time.

So, once you have your apple puree ready, making apple face masks couldn’t be any easier. Here are my suggestions – my absolute favorite ways to use apple for skin care and get great results in no time:

1. Diy Apple Face Mask for Dull Complexion

Ingredients for DIY Apple Face Mask for Dull Complexion

  • 1 tablespoon apple puree
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • a large pinch of cinnamon

Such a perfect combination, especially during fall and winter! All the ingredients complement each other and work together to give you beautiful, healthy skin.

However, cinnamon is known to cause allergies and skin irritations when applied topically. So, before you apply the mask to your face, make sure to patch-test it first.

To make this mask, put all the ingredients in a small bowl. Mix well until you get a smooth mixture.

Apply the mask to a clean face, preferably after a face scrub. Leave it on for around 15 minutes. Then rinse off well and apply your face cream right away.

2. Diy Apple Face Mask for Uneven Skin Tone

  • 1 tablespoon apple puree
  • 2 teaspoons thick yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon fresh orange juice

On those days when your skin looks dull and tired without an apparent reason, it probably just needs some moisture and vitamins. This mask is perfect for revitalizing the skin and adding glow.

Yogurt contains lactic acid, which exfoliates the skin and encourages the new skin cell growth. It also moisturizes the skin and helps fade skin imperfections.

In a small bowl, mix the apple puree and thick yogurt. Add the orange juice (1 – 2 teaspoons) and mix again until everything is well combined.

Apply the mask to a clean face. Leave it on for around 20 minutes and during that time reapply the mask every time your skin absorbs it. Wash off and apply a face cream.

3. Diy Apple Face Mask for Sensitive Skin

Diy Apple Face Mask for Sensitive Skin - The Necessary Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon apple puree
  • 3 teaspoons oatmeal powder
  • 1 tablespoon warm milk

If your skin easily gets red and irritated, you have to be very careful about what you are putting on it. All the products need to be gentle, non-irritating, soothing and safe for your skin.

This mask is all of that and much more. It cleanses, tones and replenishes the skin. It is great in providing your skin with all it needs in a gentle, safe and all-natural manner.

For this mask, you can use colloidal oatmeal, finely ground rolled oats or oat flour. Mix well all the ingredients. If the mask is too thick, add some more milk. If it is too runny, add more oatmeal powder.

Wash and exfoliate your face. Apply as thick a layer of the mask as possible. Leave it on for 15 – 20 minutes. Then wash the mask off and apply your face cream.

4. Face Mask with Aloe Vera and Apple for Skin Brightening

Everything you need for Face Mask with Aloe Vera and Apple for Skin Brightening

  • 2 teaspoons apple puree
  • 1 tablespoon aloe vera gel
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

No matter your skin type, your skin will love this mask. Aloe vera provides lots of moisture and antioxidants. It regenerates the skin and restores its youthful glow.

Coconut oil is an incredibly nourishing natural oil that makes the skin soft, smooth and radiant. However, in some girls, coconut oil can clog pores and cause acne and blackheads. If that is your case, you can replace coconut oil with any other natural oil.

First melt the coconut oil. Remove from the heat and add the other two ingredients. Mix well until you get a smooth mixture.

Wash your face and exfoliate it with a gentle face scrub. Use a cotton ball to apply the mask. Leave it on for around 20 minutes and during that time reapply as needed. Wash off and apply a face moisturizer.

5. Rejuvenating Face Mask with Apple and Rice

Rice is a not-so-well-kept Asian beauty secret that Japanese women use for centuries to achieve that perfect dewy glow. Rice face masks keep the skin plump, soft and youthful. They fade dark spots, tighten the skin and regenerate damages.

Jojoba oil has a texture similar to the sebum our skin naturally produces. Because of that, it easily sinks into the deeper layers of the skin and provide them with moisture and nourishment.

Mash the rice well with a fork until you get rid of all the lumps. Add the apple puree and jojoba oil and mix everything well.

Apply the mask to a clean face. Leave it on for around 20 minutes. Every time it starts to dry or your skin soaks it up, apply another layer. Then rinse off well and apply your favorite face cream.

6. Nourishing Face Mask with Apple and Banana

All the Ingredients for Nourishing Face Mask with Apple and Banana

I love using banana in my face masks, since it makes my skin look and feel nourished and healthy. It moisturizes dry parts, softens rough areas and provides lots of minerals.

Lemon, on the other hand, brightens the skin and encourages the skin renewal process. It exfoliates the skin, fades skin imperfections and helps the other ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin.

Mash a piece of banana well with the back side of a fork. Try to get rid of all the lumps. When smooth, add the apple puree and freshly squeezed lemon juice and mix well.

Apply a thick layer of the mask to a clean face. Leave it on for around 20 minutes. Then wash the mask off and apply your face cream while your skin is still slightly damp, to lock in the moisture.

7. Anti-Aging Diy Apple Face Mask

A perfect combination for aging skin! Super moisturizing, nourishing and soothing face mask that restores and replenishes the skin, improves the skin elasticity and prevents premature aging signs.

Cut the apricot in half, remove the seed and the skin and mash well with a fork to get a smooth puree. To that, add the other two ingredients and mix until smooth.

Wash and exfoliate your face. Apply a thick layer of the mask. Leave it on for 15 – 20 minutes. Then wipe the mask off with a clean tissue and rinse off the residue. Apply a face moisturizer while your skin is still slightly damp.

8. Diy Apple Face Mask for Autumn and Winter

The Ingredients for a DIY Face Mask with Apple Puree, Pumpkin and Milk

  • 1 tablespoon apple puree
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin puree
  • 2 teaspoons warm milk

During the cold months, our skin tends to get really dry, irritated and uncomfortably tight. It looks dull and unhealthy and it can start to flake.

Pumpkin contains vitamins A, C and E, fruit enzymes, AHAs and zinc – all important for healthy, youthful, supple skin. Milk brightens the skin, hydrates it and fades acne marks and dark spots.

Combine the apple puree and pumpkin puree. Add just enough warm milk to get a nice, creamy consistency. Mix everything well.

Wash your face with warm water and a gentle face cleanser. Apply a thick layer of the mask as evenly as you can. Leave it on for 15 – 20 minutes. Wash off and apply a face cream right away.

9. Hydrating Face Mask with Apple and Cucumber

The Best Way to Use Benefits of Apple for Skin that is Dull and Dehydrated - Hydrating Face Mask with Apple and Cucumber

  • 1 tablespoon apple puree
  • 1 large tablespoon cucumber puree
  • 2 teaspoons honey

I love using this treatment every time my skin starts to look and feel tired and dehydrated. It is super light, super hydrating, super brightening and it makes my skin tight and supple.

In a small bowl, mix all the ingredients well together. You should get a smooth, but thin and runny paste.

Apply it to your face with cotton balls. Leave it on for 20 minutes and during that time reapply as needed. Then rinse the mask off and apply a face cream while your skin is still slightly damp.

10. Exfoliating Face Mask with Apple and Brown Sugar

The Ingredients for Exfoliating Face Mask with Apple and Brown Sugar

  • 1 teaspoon apple puree
  • 3 – 4 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Exfoliating your skin regularly removes all the dead, dry and dull skin cells off your skin and reveals the beautiful, young skin underneath. It also speeds up the skin cell turnover process, plus it helps other skincare products to penetrate deeper into the skin.

To make this exfoliating face mask/scrub, first mix the brown sugar and olive oil. Add just enough apple puree to get the consistency of wet sand.

Apply a thin layer of the scrub to a wet face. Using upward circular motions, exfoliate your face for around 5 minutes. Then apply a thicker layer of the scrub over the first one and leave it on your face as a mask for another 10 minutes.

Wash the mask off with warm water and a gentle face cleanser. Apply a face cream right away, while your skin is still slightly damp, to lock in the moisture.
